First Time at NYFW!

Hi all! This is about to be a rambling mess, so bear with me.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working my first ever fashion show for New York Fashion Week! I was there with the Pacha Makeup Team for the Da By Daniel Fall 2019 show. It was one of the craziest experiences of my life. It definitely had its ups and downs, but I am grateful for every second of it.

Leading up to this show I was super nervous, as it came with a lot of firsts for me. The first time doing makeup for a fashion show, the first time working under the head MUA Marcus Pacha and the first time working with such a large team (all of which I had also never met or worked with before). But, I was also excited to meet new people, see what the fashion industry is like behind the scenes and most of all, get to work on a ton of faces in a fast-paced environment.

Our team was prepped for a very clean, no-makeup makeup look. No eyeshadow, no lashes, no liner. Just dewy foundation, slightly flushed cheeks, and a barely-there lip. However, things changed due to an unfortunate wig delivery mishap, so our team was thrown into a completely different look.

The look that we ended up going with was a bold colorful shadow look, to match the dress that each model was wearing, and an even bolder black wing {pictured below, Image 1}. We eventually decided to cover the brows with color as well {pictured below, Image 2}.

Overall the experience was a positive one. The overcrowded room, the constant changes, being a part of a team, was all part of what made it exciting! I hope to be at Fashion Week again in the future.

Not-So-Pro Tip: In fashion, be prepared for anything. Change is inevitable and if you don't have the products necessary to execute a look, you'll be majorly screwed.
